Workin’ nine to wine…
Happy hump day everyone! We’ve officially made it half way through the week which certainly calls for a well-deserved glass of wine. For me there’s nothing quite like coming home after a long day or kick-starting the weekend than with a cold white wine in hand. Today I’m sharing with you five white wines that I love and drink regularly that are all under $20. You could say my taste for alcohol matured very early compared to some of my mates who would be out ordering all sorts of concoctions whilst I would settle for a refreshing glass of Sauvignon Blanc – or Savvy Blanc as we like to call it in Australia. My fail-safe tip on trusting that you always find a dry, crisp drop is to opt for one from the Marlborough region in New Zealand. Although Australia does have many lovely white wines, there are actually a few from our local Swan Valley and South West region of Margaret River that I really enjoy, an NZ Marlborough is by far my favourite. Another tip I have is to pop a few frozen grapes into your glass, especially if you’re outside in the sun, that way it will stay cool without being watered down like when using ice cubes. Below I’ve listed five of my faves, all $20 or less so you can sit back and enjoy your wine without breaking the bank. All prices are as listed per bottle from Dan Murphy’s.
Houghton White Classic Sauvignon Blanc – $7.95
Matua Marlborough Crisp Sauvignon Blanc – $9.88
Toi Toi Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc – $10.50
Vasse Felix Classic Dry White Semillon Sauvignon Blanc – $14.90
Oyster Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc – $17.10
