So I’ve finally touched down in the beautiful, yet very misty London and I couldn’t be more excited about the journey that is the next six weeks – see here for all the details on my adventurous trip! After almost 28 hours of traveling from Perth to London, via Dubai, I was in desperate need of a good nights rest and a hot shower. The reality of that was a hard mattress and luke-warm shower, but I’m happy to say that I’m feeling much better with a set of clean clothes and freshly washed hair. Now because of those two very long flights I knew I had to stuff as much as I could possibly fit into my beloved Marc Jacobs tote to keep me busy during those 28 hours ahead of me. I had everything from skincare to books and music and even my blogging notebook in case I was feeling inspired – I wasn’t.
Beauty wise I had packed a small plastic bag full of essentials including: The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm, Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm, The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream, Caudalie Beauty Elixir, The Body Shop Shea Hand Cream, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Wipes. And of course among that was some deodourant, fresh underwear and a hairbrush. As for entertainment, I had downloaded all my favourites tunes off Spotify onto a flight-mode friendly playlist that included the best of Dixie Chicks, Ariana Grande, The Script and Maroon 5. I also always make an effort to pack a novel or two and pick up a slew of magazines at the airport before I board. I’ve recently been reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett, a novel about 1960s Mississippi and “where black maids raise white children” which I’m almost finished now, and packed as a back-up in my suitcase was my Mum’s latest book club book of A Dark Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. I did also bring my laptop on board with a few movies, but never got around to using it.
