And here it is… the first installment of 2017’s “Makeup Menus”. This month I’ve really down-played my everyday makeup, most days just opting for a bit of concealer, mascara and brow powder. When the weather is super warm and humid I just can’t stand applying a face full of product only to have it slide off my skin the minute I step outside. But on the occasions I do decide to leave the house I like to pop on a few added extras.
My skin has been going through all sorts of issues in the last few weeks: dry patches, hormonal breakouts, redness, you name it my skin has been through it. Base wise I’m still loving the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser, I find it really helps cover up dry, flaky skin and gives you the perfect non-sticky kind of glow. For foundation and concealer I’m wearing a combination of NARS Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc and Revlon Colour Stay Concealer in Light. When it comes to definition there’s nothing quite like a swish of Soap & Glory Solar Powder around the face to warm up the complexion, and with an old favourite, MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty, this gives you a natural look of warmth and colour. I’m not currently using any setting powder as my skin is just too dry and doesn’t tend to go as oily during the day as it once did.
I’ve really kept it simple on the eyes only using mascara and my beloved eyelash curlers from The Body Shop. I received the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast HD Mascara in a little gift pack for Christmas and I honestly believe that it’s the best drugstore one I’ve used in a long time. Brows are the same as usual, MAC Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow filled in using a MAC 266 brush. Now that they’ve grown out a bit I’m enjoying filling them in a bit more. On the lips this Vanilla Chai Lip Balm not only smells delicious and just like a chai latte but it’s become a bit of a handbag staple lately. I opened this pinky nude lip liner in Pink Clover one day from The Body Shop’s 24 Happy Days Advent Calendar and haven’t stopped wearing it with a bit of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm over the top. Lastly, a spritz of Urban Decay’s famous All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray which I finalllyyyyyy picked up last week!
