Home decor, my new weakness in life! Just like sparkly things to a magpie, I can’t help but gravitate toward the homewares section of department stores nowadays, and also find myself adding copious amounts of copper decor and knick-knacks to my online carts. It’s taken quite some time to get my bedroom to the way I’ve always envisaged it, but after much trial and tribulation and many Pinterest boards later I’ve almost completed my little haven to exactly how I’ve wanted it to be… bar a copper laundry basket to which I cannot seem to find one anywhere!
I’ve stuck to a simple colour palette, one that can evolve with time but also fit in with the latest interior styles and trends. For this I’ve stuck with a few neutrals like my full length mirror, knitted ottoman, white faux fur cushion and bedding and several other ornaments, but also incorporated the copper/rose gold trend throughout too. As for manchester I’ve had this bed set for almost a year now, I just love the freshness that the plain navy and white brings to my room and it’s simplicity, plus my faux fur foot rug just adds a little luxury.
I’ve tried to include different patterns and textures rather than colours, opting to keep the on-trend copper to only a select few items, mostly knick knacks like these candle holders which can always be replaced when the fad ends… hopefully it won’t for a while. Lastly what would be a room without a little greenery?! Kmart has a brilliant selection of homewares bits and pieces – most of what’s in my room is in fact from Kmart – and quite an assortment of fake plants and succulents, but in the end I went for this plastic agave in a white geometric pot to create a more subtle, understated look.
I am just so thrilled that I’ve finally finished my room and am beyond happy with it! I hope you like it just as much as I enjoyed doing it up.
