What a year 2019 has been, especially beauty wise. This year I really started to take better care of my health and beauty regime, and whilst there were a tonne of new products I tried and loved, these are my best beauty buys from this year. I also quickly want to mention that I have omitted a few some of my skincare favourites from this lineup as I recently shared a whole post covering my newest skincare additions. I can’t believe this post will be my last for 2019, but I am so ready to move forward into the new year and new decade with a fresh perspective and outlook on the kind of lifestyle I want to live, lead and share with you guys.
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bombs
These babies totally converted me from a lip gloss hater to a lover! They are so comfortable to wear on the lips but sadly the shade range is very limited. I have been wearing my favourite shade, Fenty Glow, all year ’round and it hardly ever leaves my handbag – it’s a staple nude with just the right amount of shimmer. I was so lucky to receive this gorgeous Glossy Posse gift set for Christmas which several limited edition shades as well as the cult favourite shade, Fu$$y.
Rose Quartz Facial Roller
This beauty invention is the best thing since sliced bread. I’ve had a crystal facial roller in my skincare stash for a few years now, but sadly my last one smashed when traveling overseas. It has since been replaced with the stunning Nutra Organics Rose Quartz Facial Roller. Face rollers are incredible for reducing redness and puffiness – perfect for those pesky morning under eye circles. I also use it to help drive my serum even further into my skin before moisturising at night.
I’ve mentioned this product before but I’ll say it again #gamechanger. I’ve had some serious issues with my skin this year and this combination of yarrow essential oil with pomegranate seed oil has been just about the only thing that my skin has reacted to positively. I tend to add a couple of drops to my daily moisturiser in the morning and again in the evening, or opting to use it as a really hydrating serum if my skin is feeling extra dry. I can safely say that Yarrow|Pom totally takes the cake for my best beauty buy of 2019.
Soap & Glory Brow Archery 2-in-1
When my mum picked up this product by accident and later passed it onto me, I had no idea it would become one of my holy grail brow products. I’m not too sure how readily available it is in Australia, since she purchased it in the United Kingdom, but if you can get your hands on it, you’ll be thanking me. The product itself is a two-in-one brow sculpting crayon and setting gel. I’ve used plenty of brow products in my time and have found this one to be the best with application and the shade being almost identical to my natural hair colour, plus the setting gel has been a life saver when working out in the summer.
Mecca Cosmetica SPF
Another beauty product I’ve recently mention, but again, sunscreen and facial SPF has changed my life. After witnessing some pretty gnarly sun damage on a friend’s face, I really shocked me into taking sun protection a lot more seriously. I now never leave the house without wearing it, and SPF has actually has become my secret tip for getting a really glowy skincare base before makeup without all the grease.
Zoeva Makeup Brushes
Every couple of years I treat myself to a set of brand new set of Zoeva makeup brushes. I have tried so many different makeup brushes out there, ranging from high end to drug store, and I still firmly believe these guys are the best on the market, especially for the quality and value of the brushes. These brushes are definitely a beauty investment, but if you take good care and wash them regularly, they will see you through years of makeup applications!
