Anyone else struggle with clean eating meal inspo as soon as it’s too cold to live off smoothies all day? The winter weather has officially rolled into Perth this week and I’ve been craving something a little more substantial and hearty. Some days I draw blanks when thinking about what to cook and that’s when I turn to my go-to stack of cookbooks to spark inspiration. I own so many cookbooks these days it could be considered a hobbie… or boarderline hoarding (oopsie). Nevertheless, these are the titles I come back to time and time again because I absolutely love the recipes within.
Meet Australia’s favourite nutritionist and crystal lovin’ yogi, Lola Berry. Lols, as she affectionately refers to herself as, has been in the wellness space for years, releasing her first book back in 2012. I actually own every single book she has ever written!
My favourite recipes are the Veggie Curry with Creamy Quinoa (a weekly staple) and Quinoa Stuffed Capsicums from The 20/20 Diet Cookbook, and the Gingergbread Porridge, Pumpkin & Zucchini Loaf and Beanie Brownies from The Happy Life.
If you haven’t heard of Bali’s most Instagram-able cafe, KYND, then you musn’t be on the ‘Gram! The two boss ladies that own KYND, Lauren and Corryn, have now taken their famous menu items and popped them into two cookbooks, KYND and Summer. I highly recommened these two books if you enjoy eating a plant-based diet!
My favourite recipes are Mister Mushies, Paradise Pancakes and Zucchini Puttanesca from KYND cookbook, and the Ferrero Granola, Loaded Hot Dogs and Banana Flower Fish (vegan beer battered fish) from Summer.
There isn’t a single recipe from my Jessica Sepel cookbooks that I haven’t tired and loved! My Mum introduced me to Jessica’s cookbooks a few years back and many of her dishes have become firm family favourites. And if you can’t get your hands one of Jessica’s amazing books, check her blog which features hundreds of recipes!
My favourite recipes are the Signature GF Loaf and Herb & Almond-Crusted Snapper from The Healthy Life, and Peanut Butter Acai Bowl, Apple Pie Oats (an all-time fave of mine), Healing Eggplant Bruschetta and Cacao Sea Salt Truffles from Living the Healthy Life.
Andrea Hannemann, better known as Earthy Andy on the ‘Gram, is the queen of smoothie bowls. Living on the island of Oahu in sunny Hawaii, Andy has access to an abundance of exotic fresh produce and is passionate about eating a gluten free, vegan diet. Her cookbook, Plant over Processed, was only recently released and is already a number one best-seller!
My favourite recipes are the Rainbow Rice Paper Rolls, Cauliflower Chickpea Masala, Golden Healing Power Soup and Nach-yo Everyday Cheese Sauce.
