Today’s the day I finally get to let the cat out of the bag on what my secret project is that I’ve been working on since the beginning of the year. As many of you would’ve guessed by my recent posts on Instagram, I’m writing my first cookbook! It feelS so good to now have it all out in the open. I’ve always loved to cook and grew up absolutely spoiled by my Mum and Nanna, who are both incredible home cooks. Writing a cookbook has been a lifelong dream of mine, so after years of writing beauty and lifestyle content, and graduating as a health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I decided it was time to combine both my passions. Not long after, the first draft of the book was complete.
About the Book
During my studies at IIN, I learnt a lot about the importance of three things: whole foods, seasonal produce and bio-individuality (fancy word that means one person’s food is another person’s poison). These three pillars make up the foundation of the book. Inside there will be over 150 recipes, many of which are plant-based and all can be easily customised to suit your own individual dietary needs. These recipes are the classics you know and love, but with a healthy twist, plus a even more from my personal collection inspired by my childhood and travels abroad. I’ve also included a bunch of my secret kitchen and cooking tips and tricks, as well as a list of what produce is best to buy each season.
When & Where Can I Get It?
If all goes according to plan, you can expect the book to be released before the end of the year, although I’m working hard towards a pre-Christmas launch. I’ve also decided to self-publish and bring the book to life in the form of an eBook, which means once you purchase it, you’ll have your copy immediately. There are a number of reasons why I’m choosing to publish digitally; one, being you’ll have the option to read it on your phone or iPad, so you will literally have a pocket cookbook with you at all times; two, you could print it out and add your own chef notes to it, and; three, it’s more environmentally friendly. Once the book is complete and ready to be released, you’ll be able to purchase it right here from the shop section of the blog.
